Last night, just before dawn, Israel’s occupation forces invaded the village of Beit Rima on the West Bank and clashed with local youths who opposed the invasion by throwing rocks and bottles.
19 y/o Ahmad Hazim Ata al-Rimawi was shot with several live rounds at chest by the Israeli occupation forces and died in ambulance while being evacuated to a hospital in Salfit.
One bullet had lodged in the teenager’s heart.
His father, former political prisoner Hazim Ata al-Rimawi, had been released just three months after being imprisoned for 14.5 years by the Israeli occupation.
Then Ahmad had stood beside his father in a welcoming party, smiling. It’s possible that as Israel’s occupation forces invaded his home village, he believed that they could be coming to re-arrest his father as is common behaviour for the occupation.
Today, at noon Palestine time, Ahmad himself was buried at his home village of Beit Rima.
Two other youths were also wounded and suffered non- life threatening wounds.
Israeli occupation spokesman claims the occupation forces attacked the resisting youths as a ‘riot controlling measure’ and supposedly only ‘shooting in the air’.
