ELDERLY ACTIVIST FROM GOLAN HEIGHTS DIES IN ISRAELI OCCUPATION PRISON

Long-time peaceful activist against Israeli occupation of Syria’s Golan Heights, As’ad al-Wali has died in an Israeli prison at the age of 70.
 
He was in prison for ‘illegally’ building a home ‘without a permit’ from the Israeli occupation, sentenced to eight months after refusing to a pay fine.
 
He had several earlier prison sentences for anti-occupation activism and had been suspended from his work as a teacher by the Israeli occupation.
 
His cause of death is unknown.
