Israeli police opened fire on two young men near the port of Jaffa in ethnically cleansed Palestine 1948 early on Saturday, killing one of them and moderately wounding the other.
Israeli police claims that the two men, riding on the same motor-cycle, would have ‘tried to shoot police’. Families of both youths have denied the claim.
The killed young man has been named as Mahdi al-Saadi, aged 20 or 22. His family claims he was killed in ‘cold blood’ and that the police could have easily captured him alive.
The killing led to protests, during which Israeli police arrested 4 people. His funeral will be held tomorrow at 10:30 local time and more protests are planned to accompany it.
