On Friday October 11th Israel’s occupation forces wounded at least 62 and up to 71 people in their attack on the 78th Great Return March demonstration held in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Among the wounded are at least 24 and up to 28 children according to differents reports by the al-Mezan Center for Human Rights and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights. Two women were also among the wounded.
At least 24 up to 33 people were shot with live ammunition or hit by shrapnel from live ammunition, while at least 20 people were shot with rubber-coated steel bullets and at least 5 were directly hit by tear-gas grenades.
Three people, including two children children, were seriously or critically wounded. They are, according to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights:
– Bahaa’ Mostafa Salama Abu Rokaab(17), who was shot in his abdomen in central part of the border with ethnically cleansed Palestine 1948.
– Alaa Hani al-‘Abasi(13), who was hit in head with a tear-gas grenade in Khan Younis in the southern part of the small coastal enclave.
– Samer Wael Rajab al-Refi(23), who was shot in neck in northern part of Gaza.
Exceptionally no paramedics or journalists were wounded during the 78th Great Return March demonstration.
